Chronological Bible Reading Plan

Reading through the Bible chronologically can help get a much better appreciation for and knowledge of the grand narrative.

The traditional arrangement of Scripture is to group by book/author. What is difficult is that in many cases, events that overlapped in time are found in different parts of the Bible. This is particularly true for the books of Chronicles, Samuel, Kings, the prophets and the synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John). Psalms, the collection of Spiritual songs to God were written while the historical events of Scripture played out, and thus span the historical period of Moses to the Babylonian captivity.

A chronological arrangement seeks to reconcile those instances allowing the reader to seamlessly walk through the narrative, prophesies, wisdom and poetry of the Bible.

The pace presented here is designed to be synchronized with the Chronological Bible Lessons which work from Genesis through Revelation on a 4 year cycle, and form the basis for our Sunday Morning Family Ministry Lessons.
